So exciting!

I really had no intention of giving Henry a binky. At about 6 weeks of age, it was obvious that we needed something other than me! He would try to nurse just for comfort and get VERY upset when my milk would let down. So I gave in and gave him a binky with hopes that he would soon start sucking on his fingers instead. I must admit that I have even helped him practice sucking on his fingers. I just feel better knowing that his in charge instead of me sticking a plug in there. So the other day when I put him down for a nap and he refused the bink and took his thumb, I was elated! I also think it's so sweet looking. And yes, all you moms out there, I am very aware of the fact that I'm going to regret all of this in a couple years when I can't just throw away his thumb :)

The New Do

With a new hair stylist came a new cut. I think I really like the bangs. It's been 4 days and I'm still getting use to it.

Angel Face

Yet again, I am aware of the fact that I have mom goggles on, but I also know there can't be a sweeter face out there! Henry is blossoming into the most adorable little guy. His face is always full of smiles and his giggles are heart-warming.

More Cousin Time

Caleb and Gracie love the new mobile Henry. Caleb spent the morning pulling Henry around. He showed him is room, his toys, and his books. Caleb pulled Henry into the dining room with a stack of books on his tray and then sat and read to him. So sweet!

Undivided Attention!

Henry has become fasinated with sports on TV. I'm not a big fan of TV, so I try my best to distract him. As you can see, I'm not usually very successful.

That's Our Baby!

Henry turned 4 months old on Thursday! He is becoming more and more fun by the day. He smiles at everything. His laugh is yummy. He reaches for his toys and pulls them to his face. He has a lot to say, we just can't figure out what it is yet. He's starting to sit up. And he's waking up at 5am wanting to play. I don't mind so much since he's always wearing his beautiful smile! Most importantly, he's being very patient with his gimp mommy.

This is how Henry was taking his nap.

A light at the end of the tunnel!

Some of you may have noticed that I just haven't had much to say these days. Well, I've felt pretty crummy. To make a kinda long story short...I jumped off a hay ride and jarred my back. After a month and a half of increasing back pain and severe muscle spasms and eventually not being able to carry Henry, I went to the ER on Tuesday. So, they took some films and I have a vertebral compression fracture. Sounds like something a 75 year old woman with osteoporosis gets, right? Well, pretty much! This has been such a blessing. I now know that I have a low bone density and I can do something about it! So in 7 years when I run the Boston marathon (yeah right), I can look back on this miserable experience and be so grateful! I left the ER yesterday knowing two things: I am NOT dying and ALWAYS listen to my husband when he tells me to hand him the baby so I can carefully climb off the hayride!

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow. We have so much to be thankful for. Especially this little guy who is dreaming of his future as a turkey bowl receiver :)

What was so funny?

I was looking through some old pictures today and found these. Emily and I took some pictures for our Dad on the same day that we took my tummy pictures. We obviously had the giggles that day! :)

Trying to Relate

Mike's already trying to relate to Henry and see things from his point of view. What a good Daddy :) If you're wondering why Henry is diaperless, he loves being naked!
I also need to apologize for the lack of posts recently. I had misplaced our camera and found it tonight...I'll try to make up for it!

So So Sweet

Henry's cousins have been sharing their toys with him :) What a cutie pie!

Lovin' the Cloth

Can I tell you how much I love our cloth diapers! Some people make a big deal about the fact that we use cloth like I'm some super mom or something. But let me tell you...props to all of you that deal with poop stains! While on our trip to Kansas, I decided to use disposable diapers because I thought it would be easier. At least half of the times that Henry had a BM, he would blow out all over his cute outfit. That was SO frustrating to me! I have never had to change an outfit due to a diaper disaster while using cloth, not even a little leak. And Henry really knows how to fill them up since he only has a BM every 3 or 4 days now. So now I'm thinking I'm the one that has it easy!

Snack Time

I wanted to show you all just how ridiculous I am now that I am a mother. I even do this kind of stuff in public! How embarrassing :)

Henry's Halloween

Henry decided against a costume for his first Halloween. He wanted to make a simple statement and still seem festive :)

Henry's hands are his new favorite friends.

It's so hard not to kiss him all over and wake him up.
