So Bugged at Myself!!!

I laid in bed last night, completely frustrated with myself. I was thinking about the post I had put on our blog (yes, I'm a loser!) and just couldn't believe it. I entitled the post "Major Inspiration", and proceeded to go on and on about how some magazine was an inspiration in my life.

Go back a few days earlier. A man that I know is a prophet of God passes away and I write a total of about 10 words. To be perfectly honest, it took about 2 hours to publish that post because I didn't know what to say.

I am so grateful for the influence that Gordon B. Hinckley has been in my life. I never had the chance to shake his hand (like my husband did), or even be in the same room with him (like my sister did on numerous occasions), but I felt his love for me and all of mankind everytime I heard him speak. He spent his life in the service of his God. I look forward to teaching my children of his example.

Major Inspiration

My husband will probably laugh when he reads this, but I like to cook. And I want to love to cook. I find that when I attempt it, I'm pretty good at it. I just need a little inspiration...and I found it! This is another find from Ashley. Emily brought some recipes home with her from this magazine last time she was visiting Ashley. She became hooked. I became hooked. Everything my sister has fixed from this magazine has been awesome. She made the best Chicken Parmesan that I've ever had. I've only attempted a couple things so far and they've all been delicious.

Every issue of Cook's Country has foolproof recipes, full-color photos, equipment reviews and ratings, taste test results for supermarket ingredients, kitchen shortcuts and much more. Now I just need to learn how to stock a good pantry and I am set. Check out the website for a free trial issue!

Our little baby is 6 months old today! Sometimes I look at the pictures from the birth and feel like it was years ago. Today, I can't believe that the little boy sitting in my lap is my baby. What happened?!

Obviously, he is a very healthy 6 month old. And have I mentioned how happy he is 98% of the time :)

Henry is a strong little boy! He is sitting up and pulling up on his knees all the time!

My Little Olympian

For some reason recently I've been wondering if Henry will be an athelete, and if so, what kind. Basketball is obviously the no brainer. Mike, his Uncle Jake, and his cousin Caleb will make sure of that! I've also spent some time this week looking into joining a local indoor pool to continue rehab for my back. Then it hit me...how cool would it be for Henry to be a swimmer! Not just the play and splash in the water kind, but the "I wear a special bodysuit because I can swim so fast" kind. :)
And THEN, tonight in the bath it all came together. I've been letting Henry sit up in the bath some the past few nights. My hands were inches away from him and all the sudden, with lightening speed, Henry did this amazing leap frog dive into the "deep end". It's destiny! Hopefully he will be a little more excited about diving into water when he is older though. I was as wet as he was by the time I had him comforted and convinced him that he could indeed still breath. I guess we have some time to work on it.

Charlie Bit Me!

So I really need to figure out how to post clips from YouTube. I saw this on another blog and had to share it...I think this kid is adorable. I've watched it like 5 times and I'm still cracking up! You should watch this.

Summer Lovin'

Henry and I were going through some clothes today to see what he might be growing in to. We came across this stylin' summer hat and started talking about how much fun this summer is going to be! He is going to be a little fish. I can't wait until we can open the windows in the house and let some fresh air in. I can't wait until we can go on walks because it's so beautiful outside and not because we need to get out of the house. I can't wait to go camping with Mike and take Henry on his first camping trip. I can't wait for fireworks. I can't wait to watch my Dad (Henry's Papa) play with his 3 grandchildren in the pool. I can't wait for playgroups outside. I can't wait for family vacations.

I really need some help being more positive about the winter months! I'm going to end up wishing almost a third of my life away. Please remind me why it's so great to live in a 4 season climate :)
