So Bugged at Myself!!!

I laid in bed last night, completely frustrated with myself. I was thinking about the post I had put on our blog (yes, I'm a loser!) and just couldn't believe it. I entitled the post "Major Inspiration", and proceeded to go on and on about how some magazine was an inspiration in my life.

Go back a few days earlier. A man that I know is a prophet of God passes away and I write a total of about 10 words. To be perfectly honest, it took about 2 hours to publish that post because I didn't know what to say.

I am so grateful for the influence that Gordon B. Hinckley has been in my life. I never had the chance to shake his hand (like my husband did), or even be in the same room with him (like my sister did on numerous occasions), but I felt his love for me and all of mankind everytime I heard him speak. He spent his life in the service of his God. I look forward to teaching my children of his example.

Major Inspiration

My husband will probably laugh when he reads this, but I like to cook. And I want to love to cook. I find that when I attempt it, I'm pretty good at it. I just need a little inspiration...and I found it! This is another find from Ashley. Emily brought some recipes home with her from this magazine last time she was visiting Ashley. She became hooked. I became hooked. Everything my sister has fixed from this magazine has been awesome. She made the best Chicken Parmesan that I've ever had. I've only attempted a couple things so far and they've all been delicious.

Every issue of Cook's Country has foolproof recipes, full-color photos, equipment reviews and ratings, taste test results for supermarket ingredients, kitchen shortcuts and much more. Now I just need to learn how to stock a good pantry and I am set. Check out the website for a free trial issue!

Our little baby is 6 months old today! Sometimes I look at the pictures from the birth and feel like it was years ago. Today, I can't believe that the little boy sitting in my lap is my baby. What happened?!

Obviously, he is a very healthy 6 month old. And have I mentioned how happy he is 98% of the time :)

Henry is a strong little boy! He is sitting up and pulling up on his knees all the time!

My Little Olympian

For some reason recently I've been wondering if Henry will be an athelete, and if so, what kind. Basketball is obviously the no brainer. Mike, his Uncle Jake, and his cousin Caleb will make sure of that! I've also spent some time this week looking into joining a local indoor pool to continue rehab for my back. Then it hit me...how cool would it be for Henry to be a swimmer! Not just the play and splash in the water kind, but the "I wear a special bodysuit because I can swim so fast" kind. :)
And THEN, tonight in the bath it all came together. I've been letting Henry sit up in the bath some the past few nights. My hands were inches away from him and all the sudden, with lightening speed, Henry did this amazing leap frog dive into the "deep end". It's destiny! Hopefully he will be a little more excited about diving into water when he is older though. I was as wet as he was by the time I had him comforted and convinced him that he could indeed still breath. I guess we have some time to work on it.

Charlie Bit Me!

So I really need to figure out how to post clips from YouTube. I saw this on another blog and had to share it...I think this kid is adorable. I've watched it like 5 times and I'm still cracking up! You should watch this.

Summer Lovin'

Henry and I were going through some clothes today to see what he might be growing in to. We came across this stylin' summer hat and started talking about how much fun this summer is going to be! He is going to be a little fish. I can't wait until we can open the windows in the house and let some fresh air in. I can't wait until we can go on walks because it's so beautiful outside and not because we need to get out of the house. I can't wait to go camping with Mike and take Henry on his first camping trip. I can't wait for fireworks. I can't wait to watch my Dad (Henry's Papa) play with his 3 grandchildren in the pool. I can't wait for playgroups outside. I can't wait for family vacations.

I really need some help being more positive about the winter months! I'm going to end up wishing almost a third of my life away. Please remind me why it's so great to live in a 4 season climate :)

When Daddy Came Home!

Mike was able to come home early due to the weather. We bundled Henry back up and went out to play. Daddy is a little more daring when it comes to exposing Henry to new things (Mom needs to lighten up). Henry made his first snow angel with the help of his Dad. He loved it all!

Soooooooo pretty.

This was perfect weather for Henry's teething! He loved to suck on the cold snow. I'll try not to think about the fact that the first thing he injested other than breastmilk was industrial chemicals! :o

Couldn't you just eat him up ?!!!?

Happy Birthday Gracie!

Henry's cousin Gracie turned 1 yesterday.

Hmm...she not quite sure what to think.

This was after about 5 minutes and as messy as it got :)

Caleb knew where the good stuff was!

Gracie's Birthday continued...

Gracie was so excited about her doll stroller that Caleb ended up opening most of her other presents.

Gracie figures that it's her turn to be on the other end :) Henry loves it all!

Bring It On!

I LOVE the snow! I detest Winter, but I love snow...go figure. My thought is that if it's going to be cold, it mine as well be exciting and pretty :) I bundled Henry up this morning and had our neighbor take some pictures. It was so cute. He kept wanting to look up at the snow falling, but kept getting snowflakes in his eyelashes. It's suppose to keep snowing like this all day. YAY!

Henry's winter outfit from his Abuelita. Plenty of growing room!

Newest Past Time

Henry is our little Roo these days. He loves to jump. He spent some time in his cousins' jumper and thought it was the greatest! Now everyone needs to be careful when they hold him because he might jump up under your chin. Ouch!

This is a pretty typical sight around our house. Henry is always cracking up, and brings a lot of laughter and play time to our home!

Where did my baby go?

I can't believe this is my little baby! Henry has been growing so much these past few weeks. He loves riding on his daddy's shoulders.

I think this little sleeper is so cute. He was hopping around on my lap tonight and looked like a little frog :) And if you couldn't tell, Henry was loving life this evening. I love his full face smile.

Henry was working on his sitting skills this morning. He was also showing off Wolfie...his sleeping buddy.

Christmas...two weeks late!

We have had such a fun holiday together as a family and I have a lot of catching up to do! I've ignored the blog, the house, and any sign of a routine. It's such a blessing to have so much family close by, but it makes for a busy Christmas. Most of our pictures were taken on another camera and I still need to get those. Here Henry is hanging out in his new Bob stroller (which Mom loves!) that he got from his Granma and Granpa Swinson.

Henry finally got to meet his Auntie Sam this Christmas. She lives Florida with her mom and turned 15 yesterday. I can't believe it!

Henry is quite the cuddle bug these days. He loves to cuddle with his new baby that he got from his cousins.
